Is it true that you can use a tinicture made from willow bark to help produce roots from cuttings?

I read somewhere that it is possible to produce a home made compound by boiling up willow bark that can be used to encourage cuttings (taken from plants) to produce roots. Has anyone else tried it and did it work?Is it true that you can use a tinicture made from willow bark to help produce roots from cuttings?
Just use custard powder - really! Is it true that you can use a tinicture made from willow bark to help produce roots from cuttings?
Never tried that one - wouldn't it be much the same as using soluble asprin though?
