Algae and moss do not have true root systems. how do they absorb water and minerals?

Fungi attached to the small amount of roots that these do have, absorb the water and minerals for them in exchange for photosynthetic energy...Algae and moss do not have true root systems. how do they absorb water and minerals?
although moss may have root like structure that is known as rhizoid but rhizoid function is not to absorb mineral and water. RhIzoid is to support moss. Moss absorb water through imbibition that's mean water is take directly through diffusion of cell. do so the mineral.that's why moss mostly can be found at moist place like at highland.

for algae their habitat is in the water. so water and mineral also take directly from surrounding.Algae and moss do not have true root systems. how do they absorb water and minerals?
they have false roots or rhizoids. In land plants, rhizoids are trichomes that anchor the plant to the ground. In the liverworts, they are absent or unicellular, but multicelled in mosses.
