Is it true that tooth nerves/roots are only needed til the tooth is grown in?

The nerve stays with the tooth always. The only time a tooth doesn't have a nerve, is when it has had root canal therapy. The roots stay with the tooth, the nerve tissue inside the tooth is removed and replaced with a filling material, usually gutta percha. Is it true that tooth nerves/roots are only needed til the tooth is grown in?
A healthy permanent tooth has to have a root to keep it in place and each tooth always has a nerve attached.

They are always there, not just while they are growing in.Is it true that tooth nerves/roots are only needed til the tooth is grown in?
a tooth needs nerves / roots your entire life

great picture, i wish you were my girlfriend
